A Roblox Limited is a collectible Avatar item, available both from Roblox itself and from other players. This guide covers where you can get them, what you can do with them, and the main types of Limited you can get.
What Is a Roblox Limited?
They’re Avatar items you can buy and collect in-game that can be split into three broad areas:
- Limited. These are first sold by Roblox like any other Avatar item, with no set number of copies. They become collectible once they’re discontinued.
- Limited U (or Limited Unique). Similar to Limited, these are usually rarer because they’re only released in small amounts. They’re often more collectible (and expensive) because of that.
- UGC Limited. Made by community creators, there’s usually just a limited number of these. And they can only be resold if the original creator has allowed it but they can’t be traded.
A quick way to look at these is:
| Type | Creator | Are Copies Numbered? | Are They Tradable? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Limited | Roblox | No | Yes |
| Limited U | Roblox | Yes | Yes |
| UGC Limited | Community Creators | Yes | No |
You can find out if an item’s a Limited or Limited U by looking for the tag under its picture in the Marketplace or on its details page. You’ll also find whether or not you can trade it in the ‘Tradable’ field, which shouldn’t be hard to spot.

The Trading on Roblox page has more information on this.
How Do You Get a Limited?
Getting a Limited isn’t hard and there are three main ways players can do it:
- Buy Directly from Roblox. The easiest way to get a Limited is to buy straight from Roblox while it’s still available. It’s as easy as navigating to the Marketplace, finding a Limited you like, and clicking on ‘Buy.’ You might need to be fast, though. Some Limiteds sell out quickly.
- Buy From Another Player. If a Limited isn’t available directly, you can always buy one from another player when they’re willing to sell it. Go to the Resellers section of the item’s details page to see if they’re available. But be prepared to spend more than a few Robux for some of these, though they’re usually ranked from lowest-to-highest price.
- Trade for One. If you have any Limiteds you don’t want anymore, you can try to trade these with other players for ones you actually want. But keep in mind UGC Limiteds aren’t eligible for this and you’ll need to meet requirements. Check out our guide to how Roblox trading works to help with this.

Buying the Limiteds isn’t hard and shouldn’t take too much time. But remember that purchases can’t be returned afterwards so make sure you actually want the one you’re buying before you commit to it.
What Is a Limited Worth?
A Roblox Limited’s value isn’t just the same as the purchase price. That’s especially true once they’re not being officially sold by Roblox anymore. And a few factors could play into this.
If you’re thinking of buying, selling, or trading a Limited, especially with other players, it’s worth checking a few things first:
- Price Chart. You’ll find a price chart on the Limited’s details page that gives the average price over the past 30, 90, and 180 days.
- Recent Average Price (RAP). That’s the average price the Limited’s been selling for on the market. But this fluctuates a lot, depending on the Limited.
- Community Value. This also plays a role, especially when it comes to collectors, and mainly comes from Rolimons’ estimates. Traders often trust it more than RAP, since a few sales can push RAP around.

This can all seem a little confusing and a bit daunting if it’s your first time buying Roblox Limiteds. That feels a little worse when it comes to some of the terms you might come across so these are worth explaining a little. The more common ones are:
- Demand. This refers to how many people want to buy a particular Limited. High-demand means plenty of people want to buy it.
- Rare. This refers to Limiteds only released in small amounts, usually to those where there are 100 or fewer copies.
- Projected. This focuses on Limiteds whose RAP might’ve been artificially inflated and which might not reflect the actual value.
- Hyped. This isn’t as well-used as it used to be but you can still come across it. It refers to Limiteds that had a lot of interest within a short timespan.
You can check out Rolimons’ trading terms guide if you’re a little confused about any new terms you come across.
Robux can also play into this as many players who want to buy Limiteds from other players can offer this, alongside other items to trade, to make a deal. Check out our Robux calculator to see how this works out.
How Do You Sell a Limited?
Selling a Roblox Limited is easy but you’ll need to meet a few requirements first. An active Roblox Plus subscription or legacy Premium subscription is the most notable of these. And there’s normally a hold period of up to 30 days where you can’t sell it.
After that, it’s just a few steps:
- Open the Limited’s details page.
- Scroll down to below the price chart to find the Owned Items section.
- Pick the one you want to sell.
- Choose ‘Sell’ and put in the asking price.
- Click ‘Sell Now’ to list it.
It might not sell straight away, though, with this depending on how you’ve priced it, the demand, and other factors.
To help with this, make sure you’ve set a solid asking price. Going too low means someone will buy it and try to resell it later on for a profit. Going too high means nobody will want to buy it. And once it sells, the sale can’t be reversed.
And the funds aren't going to end up in your balance straight away. It’ll show up as pending for a holding period, usually for up to 30 days.
This is all relatively simple but you can check Roblox’s How to Sell Items guide for any extra help.
Keep in mind with this that players in South Korea can’t resell Limiteds and those in Japan can only resell Roblox-made Limiteds.
Can You Buy Limiteds with Real Money?
There are third-party platforms that let you buy Limiteds for real cash. But Roblox’s Community Standards list buying or selling items for real money off the platform under fraud. Roblox can’t enforce these deals either, so it won’t return your items or Robux if one goes wrong.
We don’t recommend going outside of Roblox’s Marketplace. If you’re considering it anyway, check out our Roblox items list to compare platforms based on player reviews. And check out our common Roblox scams to stay safe.
FAQ
Can You Trade UGC Limiteds?
No. These are blocked by Roblox’s trading feature but some can be resold for Robux if the original creator has made them available.
Why Can't I Sell My Limited?
This depends on your circumstances. You need to have a Plus subscription or eligible Premium access, and the Limited you’re trying to sell needs to get through a holding period of up to 30 days. UGC Limiteds also can’t be sold if the creator disabled reselling. And players in South Korea can’t resell at all.
What Does RAP Mean?
A RAP is a Recent Average Price and means the average value an item’s sold for in Robux. This fluctuates a lot so can’t always be a direct indication of how much the item’s worth and is based on recent sales.
Are Roblox Limiteds Worth Buying?
This depends on what you want out of the Limited. It could be if you just want to collect it and have it in your account. But whether it’s worth it to buy and then resell later on depends on the RAP and other factors.
