How Trust Scores Work

The gaming marketplace is full of unknowns. New sites appear constantly, reviews are scattered across platforms, and it's hard to know who to trust with your money or items.

Our Trust Score cuts through the noise. It's a single number from 0 to 100 that tells you how trustworthy a site actually is, based on real data from other gamers who have used it.

What Goes Into Our Trust Score

We don't rely on a single source of truth. Our system pulls data from multiple review platforms and analyzes patterns across all of them. Recent, genuine reviews carry the most weight.

Review Quality

Our Trust Score starts with user reviews. We aggregate ratings from Trustpilot, Sitejabber, ScamAdviser, Reviews.io, RealReviews.io, and our own community to fully understand how a site performs.

But not all reviews are equal. A glowing review from three years ago matters less than one from last month. Our algorithm weighs recent feedback more heavily because a site's reliability today is what counts.

We also watch for red flags. If we see a sudden spike in ratings, a cluster of suspiciously similar reviews, or an influx of low-quality reviews, we dig deeper.

Review Volume & Consistency

There's a difference between a site with thousands of reviews and one with a dozen. More reviews mean more people actually using the platform.

Consistency matters too. We're looking for reviews that show up regularly over months, not all at once.

Data Freshness

Trust scores reflect what a site is like now. Our system updates scores daily based on the latest available data. If a site improves, its score rises. If problems emerge, the score drops.

Stale data gets flagged. If a source hasn't had recent activity we can verify, it carries less weight.

Understanding Trust Scores

90–100: Excellent

Outstanding reputation across platforms. Recent reviews are consistently positive. A site you can use with confidence.

80–89: Very Good

Strong track record with minor inconsistencies. The vast majority of users report positive experiences.

70–79: Good

Above average reliability. Feedback is generally positive, with some areas for improvement.

60–69: Fair

Mixed reputation. Some users report issues, so it's worth researching further before committing.

Below 60: Poor

Significant concerns raised by users. Multiple red flags. We recommend thorough research or considering alternatives.

When Scores Drop

Trust is earned over time but can be lost quickly. Certain issues trigger immediate penalties:

  • Review manipulation: If a site is caught manipulating reviews, we significantly reduce its Trust Score
  • Unresolved disputes: If a site ignores complaints, we reduce its Trust Score
  • Platform warnings: If a review platform issues a consumer alert, we reduce its Trust Score

To us, accountability matters. A site might look good on the surface, but if they're willing to game the system, that tells you something important about how they operate.

How To Use Our Trust Scores

A Trust Score is a starting point, not the final word. Use it to filter out risky sites and identify trustworthy ones quickly—but don't stop there.

Read recent reviews. Check how the score has trended over time. Look for our verification badge, which indicates a site has passed independent testing beyond just the Trust Score.

The best decisions come from combining our data with your own research.

Our Approach

We're transparent about what we measure, but keep the specifics of our algorithm private. This prevents manipulation while still giving you clear insight into what factors matter.

cores update daily as we pull in fresh data. No site can pay for a higher score. What you see reflects genuine user experiences and verifiable data - nothing more, nothing less.
